Katrina's Affect on Toastmasters

Nigel just posted that his district is North Texas and Western
Louisiana, and that made me wonder what affect Katrina had on your
district. I'm sure you had quite a few refugees, being relatively close
to the evacuated areas. Did you get a lot of new toastmasters who were
refugees? I know if I was in a situation like that I would want to find
a club after I had all the necessities covered, just to feel normal
again and to have some place to talk about my experiences. You must
have heard some amazing speeches in the past year. Betsy

I havn't really seen any impact in this area. We have a lot of corporate
clubs anyway. Maybe some of those further into downtown Dallas saw some
effect.

Since I'm originally from England, I went to downtown Dallas to see how
I could help the British people who were in New Orleans and evacuated.
Now they had some interesting stories.
