I just discovered the newsgroup map! That site is pretty cool. I'm glad
some of you put up photos, especially the member who posed with a
highly-painted aborigine dance troupe, and pointed out which one was
her... nice laugh for a Wednesday morning Smile You'll just have to
cruise by the site to see who I'm talking about...

Anyway, I tried posting a photo and my home club, but it isn't showing
on the map. Does it take a day or two to post or have I done something
wrong? I'm not sure how the program knows where to place me on the map,
since all I filled in was a town and state (no zip, and my town's name
isn't in a lot of directories). Should I have pressed an advanced tab
or something?

Thanks, Betsy

I started that frapr. I don't see it, Betsy in VA. Try again. Make sure
you include zip code. The marker will at zip code level for US. You have
the option of adding marker anonymouslt or creating an account.

Thank you, p c. I had forgotten about the map, but when Betsy mentioned
someone surrounded by painted aboriginal people, I thought that sounded like
one of my photos from Australia. It was.

I like that photo--it's fun and it has lots of personality. I wish I
could come up with a good caption like you have, but if I think of
something I can always edit the entry.

LOL!

No, this wasn't a toastmasters group. The Toastmasters I met were much more
bor - uh, I mean conventional in dress. <G>

I attended a program in Alice Springs. The program was called Red Centre
Dreaming (The Red Centre is so called because it is the middle part of
Australia, the earth is full of iron and therefore very red, and Aussies
spell things the way the English do), and consisted of an explanation and
hands-on examination of various Aboriginal weapons and tools, followed by
dinner and then Aboriginal dancing. Afterward, anyone who wished could have
their photo take with the dancers.
