The other day I was thinking about my "Embarrass the VP
Membership" club membership growth campaign, and where the
four "support groups"/teams were going to get the most
points.
It blew me away.
The campaign uses a point structure similar to that found in
the TM publication on running a simple membership building
campaign. That is, members get one point for each meeting
attended, one point for each guest brought to each meeting
(guests who attend two or more meetings get counted once for
each meeting attended), and five points for each new member
sponsored.
My campaign runs from September 1 to May 31 for about 36
meetings.
Assuming the club meets my three targets--80% attendance,
3.5 guests per meeting, and paid membership of 24 (+6
growth) at the end of May--it turns out the big point getter
is attendance.
A member who attends three out of every four meetings (75%)
would rack up 27 points. A support group of four with 75%
attendance would get over 100 points. Six new members is
only 30 points.
I expect the top support groups will get over 80% of their
points just from having their members show up for meetings
on a regular basis.
