Why are you even responding to this kook? I killfiled him and his other

complaints to his ISP are obviously going to the bit bucket.

2 of us have had the same response to their abuse. I wonder if any

Top Poster, has said his ISP has identified this person as a
Toastmaster. I've been active alt.org.toastmasters for about 20 years
and I've never seen this person. So I don't think he's part of this group.

That leaves two possibilities. One, he is a member of Toastmasters
International. Two, he works for Toastmaster Corp.. Their membership
and employee records are closed, so I don't know how his ISP would
decide that he was a Toastmaster.

I do miss the Usenet. In those days, I would have had our company's
sysadmin have a chat with his company's sysadmin. This problem would
have been solved long ago.

I'm going to try posting in both for awhile, and see how it goes.

At least it's pretty easy to spot the spam and tell who the posers
are. So, it's mostly just an annoyance of having to scroll past a lot
of stupidity. This doesn't seem to be a personal attack against
toastmasters, we're just one of a number of newsgroups that are being
pestered.

That is a downside to those kinds of mechanisms.

We have to decide whether missing a post like the original
posters is a risk worth taking.

The risk with that is, if we all did something like this,
new legitimate posters who would make a good contribution to
this group would get ignored.

I figured the spam would stop once we switched sites - why bother a
group when many of the active posters have left?

So, we could migrate back here - but we do again put ourselves at risk
of getting slammed again. Not everybody wants to deal with filters,
etc, and ToastmastersPrime solves that simply. But I can understand
the lack of motivation for some of super-saavy tech folks like Nigel
and Rick and John to want to stay with the older group.

Mark and Colin and I, and Betsy too seem to be co-existing a bit, and
we'd love your input in TPrime.

Rich.
